About Troop 941

Troop 941 is a part of the Golden Gate Area Council and founded in the Tri-Valley: Pleasanton, CA.

As of November 1st, 2024, we have over 130 registered, active scouts. By becoming a parent of a Scout, you are starting your son out on the great adventure of scouting. This is an important and rewarding endeavor that you will share with him.

Our sponsor, or Chartered Organization, are the VFW Post #6298. Troop 941 is non-denominational and welcomes all boys ages 11 to 18 to Scouting. A boy needs no prior experience to become a Scout. Troop 941 has four main goals for our Scouts:

• Growth in moral strength and character

• Participate in citizenship

• Development of physical, moral, and emotional fitness

• Be comfortable in and appreciate outdoor activities leadership

We are an extremely active troop, look below for our upcoming events.

Mission

Vision: To give scouts an environment to succeed, and to boost off as leaders.

Mission: To prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Methods of Scouting

The seven Methods of Scouting are as follows:

The Ideals — The ideals of the Boy Scouts of America are spelled out in the Scout Oath, Law, Motto, and Slogan, and Outdoor Code.

The Patrol Method — Each patrol helps its members develop a sense of pride and identity. Through patrols, boys learn how to work with others, make friends, and much more.

The Outdoors — Troop 941's outdoor activities are our scouts' escape to the adventurous world of nature. Our schedule can be viewed on the Troop Calendar page, and gear, other FAQ's, and more can be seen on our camping pages.

Advancement — As one of eight methods of Scouting, advancement is a natural outcome of the other seven. A scout who is active in the Troop 941 program will almost certainly find himself advancing along the trail to Eagle Scout.

Association with Adults — Boys learn a great deal from watching how adults conduct themselves. Scout leaders are positive role models for the members of the Troop. Additionally, scouts learn how to have proper communication with adults.

Personal Growth — Scouting age boys to experience dramatic physical and emotional growth. Scouting offers them opportunities to channel their energy into productive endeavors and find answers they are seeking to many of their questions.

Leadership Development — Troop 941 is a boy led unit. Through leadership experiences, boys learn planning, organization and decision making.

The Uniform — Wearing the uniform develops a sense of belonging and unity to the patrol and troop. The Troop 941 uniform policy is discussed in the meeting attire.
